beauty of the senses (all of them)

When people think of beauty, they think of sights and sounds, of ideas and emotions, of actions. Funny that we never think of tastes, smells or touch as beautiful. We recognize this beauty, but we don't express it as such.

a cool summer breeze, a hot shower, an arm around your shoulder, a pet's fur beneath your fingers...

the smell of jasmine or your favorite herb, of the ocean air, of a juicy steak or fresh orange...

the taste of a family recipe, of ice cream, of clean water on a hot day...

Why are such things only "pleasant" or "refreshing" or "sweet"? Why do we not call them "beautiful"? Is this a peculiarity of English in particular? Or is it a habit of all languages?

In any case, I believe we would all do well to seek beauty with our whole being, and not only our dominant senses.
